A famous actress and her husband embark on a tour of Latin America, but the Bogotazo, the massive riots that followed the assassination of a Colombian presidential candidate in April 1948, force them to remain inside a theater for 33 hours. The play focuses more on the couple’s problems than on the national crisis, and highlights the way Latin Americans view their individual fates, and that of their continent, in a violent world. Based on real events, it won the University of Miami’s 1987 Golden Letters Award.
